Projects that involve bringing material resources into area of need come under the FLOW banner.
Outside of our Learning and Exchange programmes, a large part of what Blood Foundation does is about getting resources to people who need them.
Whether it is buying handicrafts made by Shan women in their remote hilltop refugee camp and selling them into markets in the West or by directly taking in truckloads of supplies to Burmese IDP camps, FLOW is concerned with the delivery of income and resources to areas of need.
We believe strongly in the reciprocal element of such exchanges. While selling Shan scarves into Europe through The Weaving Project does bring much needed employment and money into the camp it is also a chance to bring news and information into the West which is just as important. Similarly the novices involved in handing out aid to displaced people with Novice for Children experience the true joy of giving and the satisfaction of helping others.
FLOW then is a movement, a current from areas of high density to areas of low density; and yet there is always something flowing back; knowledge, wisdom, meaning and connection.
